Pump Station Emergency — Care Home
Emergency callout to a care home with a failed pumping station causing internal flooding. Our team cleared the blockage and restored full operation same day.
The Challenge
A care home experienced internal flooding caused by a failed pumping station. The pump station was completely blocked with rag waste, causing the pumps to seize and trip. With vulnerable residents on site, an urgent response was critical.
Our Solution
Our pump engineer and jet vac tanker attended site immediately. The jet vac removed the heavy build-up of rag waste and we fully cleaned the pumping station. Our engineer then inspected the pumps and float switches, identifying faulty floats and missing lifting chains.
The Result
Flow was restored same day, eliminating the flooding risk for residents. We identified the faulty float switches and arranged a return visit to install replacement floats and lifting chains, preventing future failures.
