Network Rail Drainage Rehabilitation — London

A drainage fault on Network Rail land in London that had defeated multiple contractors over four years — resolved by UK Drainage Services with vegetation clearance, jet vac vacuum excavation, a full CCTV survey and new civils, with zero disruption to rail operations.

The Challenge

A drainage fault on Network Rail-managed land in London had persisted for over four years, despite several previous attempts by multiple contractors. The site was heavily overgrown, access was difficult and constrained, and all works had to be carried out safely without disrupting Network Rail operations.

Our Solution

After detailed planning and Network Rail-compliant RAMS preparation, our team mobilised the correct specialist units for the job. Two days of vegetation clearance created safe access and a secure working area. Our jet vac unit then carried out vacuum excavation, high-pressure jetting, drain cleaning and root cutting to break down the long-standing blockage. A full CCTV drainage inspection followed to identify defects, confirm every line was clear, and verify the system was flowing correctly. Finally, our civils team repaired and installed new manhole covers and frames.

The Result

The four-year-old drainage problem was fully resolved — the lines were cleared, defects identified, and the system confirmed flowing correctly on CCTV. New manhole covers and frames left the area safe, secure and fully accessible. All works were completed successfully with zero disruption to our client or to Network Rail operations.
