Festival Drainage & Welfare Servicing — Roundhay Festival, Leeds
Kept Roundhay Festival in Leeds running with round-the-clock welfare servicing and waste water removal — using tractor-mounted vacuum tankers to reach every unit across the park's grass and soft ground, day and night.
The Challenge
Roundhay Festival brings thousands of people to Roundhay Park in Leeds, with temporary toilets, welfare units, bars and catering spread right across the grass. All of it had to be serviced continuously without a single overflow — and the welfare units sat on soft parkland a heavy road tanker could never reach without churning up the ground.
Our Solution
We mobilised tractor-and-tanker combinations that could get to every unit across the site. Toilets and welfare units were emptied on a continuous cycle, mostly overnight and in the early hours when the site was quiet, with grey water and waste water removed from the bars and catering areas. Crews stayed on site around the clock, ready to respond to anything the moment it happened, with all waste taken away by licensed carriers under full waste transfer documentation.
The Result
The festival ran start to finish with clean, serviced welfare facilities and no overflows or disruption to the event or the public. The park's ground was protected throughout, and the site was left clear on completion — a large, high-profile Leeds event delivered without a hitch.
